Last Week:
- Monday – Another frigid day. But I sucked it up and went for a run.
I decided to get a sub for tennis since I was scheduled to play the next night (Don’t want to overwork this “old” body.)
- Tuesday – A rest day for me. A quick lunchtime walk and tennis after work (followed by dinner out.)
- Wednesday – Things started warming up so I gladly took a neighborhood run.
- Thursday– Another scheduled rest day. 50 degrees with rain. Crazy weather.
- Friday – I did go for a 4 mile run before my evening mah jongg game. Cold windy weather was back. Not a fan!
- Saturday – A scheduled rest day to do errands, get things done around the house. The hubby and I did go out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary.
- Sunday – Today I ran the Winter Series #3 10K race. No Garmin! No mile markers! Truly a naked race. Not a fast one, obviously, but still had fun.
After the race, Judy hosted a brunch at her house. There were 8 of us – all runners for good food and great conversation.
18 miles done with 4 runs and 3 rest days.
This Week:
- Monday – Day off from work, 5 mile run with Judy
- Tuesday – rest day, tennis
- Wednesday –3 mile run with Alyssa
- Thursday – rest day, mall walk with bff
- Friday – 4 mile run, mah jongg
- Saturday – rest day, March
- Sunday – 8 mile run
Once again, I am linking up for the Weekly Wrap hosted by these wonderful bloggers Holly @ HoHoRuns and Tricia @ MissSippiPiddlin. See rules here.
Happy Running! How is your running going?
A 10k race with no timing sounds really nice to me. It’d be good to have the “crowd” experience of a race without the “competition” experience every now and then! Sounds like you and Judy had a great week …does Judy play tennis with you as well?
P.S. Sounds like the weather in your area is about as fickle as ours! Ready for spring myself!

There is a clock at the end but nothing before.
No Judy does not play tennis. But it was a tennis friend who started me running.
I am ready for spring but it will be a very long time coming.

I have never run a race “naked” but I think that would take the stress out of it and truly just do it for fun!

I won’t repeat the experience on purpose

I am interested in hearing about the no Garmin, no timing race – what a concept!

Only by accident.

It’s funny that we ran the same extra miles in the same place . . . but at different times.

Probably a good warm up. But I usually add them after. I got to work more on that relaxed racing attitude.

Sometimes I’d rather get things out of the way. And I had to get home, anyway.

Many do but I never do before a race.

I’d love an event like that 10K (no timing, etc.). Sometimes it’s all about the activity (running!) and not about the finish time is doing so 😉

There was a clock at the end. Just no mile markers. And you wrote down your time.

Solid week, hon. Looks like a lot of “sucked it up” miles, and those are the “SMILE MILES” in the summer! Way to stick through it!

Love no thrils races like that, sometimes running “naked” without the constraints and gadgets can be a lot of fun!
Great job on your weekly mileage!

Another good week, winter is not slowing you down 🙂

Not yet. We have not gotten the big snowstorms or sub zero temps yet.

Our local running club used to hold fun runs where we couldn’t wear a watch but had to guess our finish time. I was never close with my answer! I hate to tell you we’ve been knocking on 80 degrees for the last few days. I’m not sure we’ll get much of a winter. But, we need one. Good for killing bugs! LOL. Happy Anniversary! Thanks for linking, Darlene!
