Every Wednesday, the Deb from Deb Runs will be providing a word about which to blog. Kind of like a nice little blog prompt. Posts can be fitness or health related, but don’t have to be, so really anyone can play along. Just be sure to link up with InLinkz on Deb’s main post, and share the love by reading and commenting on other’s participant’s posts.
This week’s Word is TENACIOUS.
What is “Tenacious?”
According to the dictionary:
not readily relinquishing a position, principle, or course of action; determined.
In other words: persevering, persistent, determined, dogged, strong-willed, tireless, indefatigable, resolute, patient, unflagging, staunch, steadfast, untiring, unwavering, unswerving, unshakable, unyielding, insistent; stubborn, intransigent, obstinate, obdurate, stiff-necked; rock-ribbed; pertinacious
Isn’t every runner tenacious?
- We set goals.
- We run in uncomfortable conditions.
- We run even when we shouldn’t.
TENACITY:
Happy Running! How are you tenacious?
This is the perfect word to describe me…and you! Never give up, right?
Good luck this weekend!

I think running tests every emotion you could possibly have and go through so I do agree every runner has some level of being tenacious. Great post Darlene!

Confession: I just learned what Tenacious meant. I would have figured it out in context, but the definition really helped me:) I agree….runners sure are tenacious.

Agree. Runners are tenacious. If my foot could bear my weight without pain, I’d be lining up on Sunday! But 4-5 hours on it would be a recipe for disaster. Darn.

yes it would. I only ran a 5k on mine before I got diagnosed.

When my husband suggested the word tenacious, I thought, “Good word.” It wasn’t until I started writing my post that I realized that it’s a perfect word for runners, and describes so many of us!
Thanks for linking up!
